Allé go balance les jambes mec !

Sorry, it’s again in english.
Just wanted to mention that I finished soldering a few sparkprotection power switches with replaceable fuse, but you could also use a stronger fuse or something else (maybe directly soldered to the PCB), no problem. Tried to get them lower in price, but it’s some hand work involved, that makes the costs higher than expected. At least it’s ok compared with the power switches I was used to buy (and return quite frequently as well).
good move David, the antispark/powerswitch was something that failed a LOT on APS. I had like four of them. I am using Vedder Antispark and it’s working perfectly.
you are welcome to speak english here and you can of course advertise freely
I won’t be advertising to much, it could annoy people, just if it’s important.
I know about the problems with those switches, I am still waiting for one to be returned from UK too. But at the end it makes sense to combine the Switches with a fuse, gives some more security not to blow up the VESC by accident (like a short on the motor or so).
And yes, it’s the Vedder Antispark here too, I just added the case for the replaceable fuse.
looks perfect ! Thanks for the sharing
Just an update, I have been very busy the last few weeks with a lot of things simultaneously (I still have another job too! ):
We will need to increase pricing on VESC, like others already have done that already. Costs for parts for assembling the VESCs went up in price extensively and we would not survive if we would not change the pricing. It’s still not a money making project and it will not be in the future either!
Of course one could say “hey, why is Jason/Enertion” offering them for almost half of the price of you?" - I only can say, if you pay original parts (and import duties and sales tax included) you receive original parts (and import duties and sales tax included). And you are buying a full refund or replacement on failure for an extended period of time according to EU laws, and no “store credit” (with some more weeks to wait to receive a replacement, and no money). We are straight forward on this!
And you’re getting the VESCs now, which means beginning of March again. We could have waited for costs come down again and keep prices the same, but on the other hand we don’t think this would be the right thing to do. As soon as parts are becoming cheaper again, pricing will go down again, promised!
I am writing this here in advance to stay as transparent as possible.
Good thing at the end: to make life easier for you we will add XT60, CAN-Bus cable and JST-PH cables (Nunchuk connection) for free with the upcoming VESCs, also the PPM cable will stay there too.
Good to know, thanks DAvid !
it’s all clear, You do well to prevent
hey david, thanks for sharing !
I think this is no problem. Of course, you’ll always find people that think that they can get everything cheaper (and they may find it) and that it’s always too expensive, once they will figure out that they don’t buy only the product but the service around. And this is where it gets weird because they pay at the end (way) much more for the same product.
we all have kind of the same passion, but bringing products to the scene, investing and learning by failure, prototyping COST A LOT : money, time not spent with family or any other thing. I spent many hours if not week in Learning by failure. So money should not be a big debate if people support other people that make things happen. And supporting means, donation or just paying more
Thanks Cédric and Riako,
we’ll try to keep the increase in the range of a pizza and a beer!
And yes you’re right, my wife and kids are sometimes a little bit irritated, even though they like the decks which they also use frequently. But the younger daughter (she’s 7) keeps explaining her friends that they should better ask her dad if they are interested in really fast skateboards and that Flintstone longboarding is old school!
A pizza and a beer is not too expensive for your availability and your advise !
that’s coming …
+1
hâte d’avoir ton retour !
