ust unboxed my Bamboo GT and had an absolute blast for about an hour. As a long time longboarder and first time e-skate user I’m on cloud nine.
Then I’m cruising some beautiful asphalt at about 15mph, no rocks whatsoever, when the board stops on a dime and sends me pretty hard. No major injuries but the raspberries on my hip and palms are no fun.
Now I’m getting no light on the power button when it’s on and the controller can’t connect.
From the research I’ve done it seems like there are a lot of issues with these boards but haven’t been able to find another instance like mine where it just plain stopped and crapped the bed.
Anybody had or heard of a similar experience? Or have any tips?
UPDATE 1: After further inspection I noticed a large chunk of the rear truck had chipped off. I didn’t thoroughly inspect it out of the box so it is possible it came from the factory like this. Also possibly linked to the motor failure. PHOTOS: http://imgur.com/a/8Hjvy
I’ve already reached out to Evolve support. I’ll keep you posted on progress from them.
UPDATE 2: Decided after reading your comments and a little more research to ship the Bamboo GT back for a full refund. I’m sure they could have fixed it and got me a new GT that worked fine but honestly I’d rather not take the chance. This rattled my confidence in Evolve pretty hard.
Instead went to my local skate shop and picked up a Boosted v2. My biggest reason for going with the Evolve in the first place was the range capability but after that nasty spill I decided to trade some range for dependability. If I find myself running out of juice too frequently I’ll pick up the extra battery. Maybe when that time comes Evolve will have more of their issues ironed out. Maybe Mellow will be an option then too.
Thanks to all on the sub for the help.
