Electric Longboard DIY Help

Hello,
(unfortunately my french isn’t sufficient… sorry)

I am a student from Switzerland, who is about to finish high school, for that I am going to need to make a work/project. For that I chose to build an electric longboard. I already started to build the deck out of some hardwood and painted it. I also ordered some wheels and trucks (Orangatang Kegel). In addition to that I already prepared the big and small pulley for the drive train. I also chose a motor (Turing sky 190kv 2450w).
In order to control the acceleration i would like to use a wii Nunchuck, since that one has an agronomic build and two additional buttons. The only problem is: How do I convert and program it?
A lot of people, that build an electric skateboard have used 2 x 5000 mAh lipos 3s 20c batteries, I would like to use 2 x 8000 mAh lipos 3s 30c, is this possible, do ‘only’ gain more range air is there more advantages/disadvantages?
What kind of ESC should I use, a lot have suggested a 100 or even 150 amp ESC to prevent overheating…

Thank you very much for your help

Sean

Hi sean !

Do you know Endless Sphere ? https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewf … c6e945e9a9
If you are better in english than in french it would be easier to get answer there

I didn’t used a nunchuck so i can’t help you sorry…
For you batteries, you will get more range but it will be longer to recharge them and the 8Ah are much bigger, expensive and heavier than 5Ah.
For example, the 5AH (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor … _Pack.html)
are 26x49x145 and the 8AH (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor … _Pack.html)
are 27x70x170.

The best is a VESC ( dedicated for e-skate) but i think 100A should be ok

Hey sean, welcome here!
